A little more than a year after the launch of the game, a new feature was added. Covert Tasks – were a 4th feature in which new content can be introduced and deployed into the game. Up until that time it was Spec Ops, PVP, and New Chapter releases. The first covert task was sponsored by Underwriter Laboratories, a company where at first glance would have seem to have nothing in coming at all with a gaming company such as Playdom. However, both do have the problem of piracy to contend with so goes the theme of the first task Pirate Hunters
The prize of this first Covert Task was an easily forgettable weapon – Charge Dissipator. Yet, since then Covert Tasks have been deployed and have introduced some of the more interesting gadgets and heroes into the game (ie. Synthetic Cube, Squirrel Girl, Vigilante Tool Kit, etc). Unlike Spec Ops and PVP, Playdom does not number the Covert Tasks. However, on our site we decided to number them nonetheless.
