June 1st has been an eventful day in MAA’s past. Four years ago we got the meta changing kick butt weapon “Coulson’s Revenge”. This took PVP by storm. Back then there were NO tournaments, just a constant PVP challenge ladder.
Then two years ago we got the launch of Playdom’s Marvel Avengers Alliance Tactics (or Martac to the most avid players). This game was a lot of fun but unfortunately it didn’t last the year. It was shut down by Playdom in October of 2014.
Then last year we got the release of Thor’s second Alt and special E-ISO that only the agent can wear. Also don’t forget the general release of Kate Bishop (aka Hawkeye 2) Good times!

The PVP reward heroes are given to those skilled and lucky enough to land in Adamantium League when the PVP tournament ends. However, PVP heroes are typically made available 30 to 45 days after the end of the tournament as a general release to all other players for the cost of 135 command points (cp). This precedent started with the release of Deadpool (Season 1 reward) on 11/5/2012. Unlike
Playdom typically would release new content on a Friday, and would especially do so on the Friday of a holiday weekend. Memorial Day weekend, which marks the beginning of the summer season culturally in the USA, is certainly no exception to that. For three years in a row they have released new weapons. For the last two years, those weapons were part of a $50 gold sale purchase. Expect the same for today. I would be really surprised if there is no new content today. Take a look below to see what we got in years past on Memorial Day weekend.

The Synthetic Cube was certainly a “meta changer” when it first came out, and certainly one of the most sought after and must have weapons in PVP. It was first introduced and made available only as reward for completing the accompanying covert tasks in 2013. When it first went on sale and became available to players that did not obtain it in the original Covert Ops Tasks, it sparked a debate. The debate has since died down since it has been made available many subsequent times after over the last two years. It is still a weapon seen quite often in the meta. Do you have it? Do you use it?

This has already created division amongst fans old and new. This goes against everything that Captain America has stood for. Why did Marvel do this radical change to such an iconic figure? Perhaps it’s the cynical times we live in. Or is it something more. Give us your opinion. Also, there is a link below if you interested in purchasing the comic from Amazon.
So far there have been 7 scrolls released as items/weapons for the agent to use in the game. 4 out of those 7 came to be known as the Egasua’s Scroll Set. Some of you may be aware that all of the scroll names are actually anagrams for a certain kind of meat. Egasua is the anagram for sausage. Some scrolls are considered “meta changers” like the Scroll of Angolob when it first came out destroyed the setups of many PVP players while at the same time removing ALL debuffs. This was frustrating to say the least, especially when it was paired up with Rescue. Then, the Scroll of Rutamarroth (released last year and NOT part of the Egasua set) is consider a “meta changer” too and is used by many players today. Which one is your favorite and LEAST favorite and why?
